Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NHS Greater Manchester Shared Services (GMSS) IT team has seen a significant increase in demand for IT support. March saw the start of thousands of our CCG and primary care customers, plus our own staff, moving out of their offices and health care settings and the need for them to be able to work from home. A huge challenge for the GMSS IT team, but together we’ve made it happen and provided the IT support required to help primary care continue across Greater Manchester throughout the COVID-19 crisis.
The GMSS IT team has been working closely with Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership and Health Innovation Manchester on expanding and monitoring data feeds into the GM Integrated Digital Care Records system (GM Care Record), to improve access to patient information across care settings in response to the COVID-19 situation. This system, also referred to as Graphnet, is hosted and supported by GMSS in the GMSS Data Centre.
